Welcome Sawyer!

Our good friends, Greg and Ali, brought their son home from Russia last Fall. Sawyer was a little over a year old when he came to his forever home...and we were all SO EXCITED for them. Greg is a HUGE Laker fan, so we decided to have a basketball themed dinner party to celebrate Sawyer's homecoming and introduce him to the gang. The party was last October...and I've been trying to blog it forever!

Kellie (The Paperista) created the invites for me. She is so creative and a dream to work with!

She also custom made me bottle wrappers, a Sawyer bunting, cupcake toppers, and iron ons for the tshirts the Hosts & Hostesses wore!

We decorated with traditional Sports Fan items in purple and yellow and had a Taco Bar and Cupcakes for dinner.

Since Greg & Ali had to have most every baby item known to man before they could bring Sawyer home, we decided to gift him a Piggy Bank painted by Timree. (She'd just finished painting Kobe's daughter's bedroom...so I figured she could do a Laker Piggy Bank better than most!) Everyone filled it with cash for Mom & Dad to use on what they felt they still needed.

All the guests at the party also signed a purple and yellow Lakers basketball for Sawyer...but I didn't get a picture of it! The party favors were rally towels that also had the "Sawyer" logo on them. (again...no pic!) We wrapped and tied them with a tag that said "Thanks for making Sawyer's Home Opener a Slam Dunk!"

All in all - the party was a blast and we all enjoyed meeting this little man. Let's just hope he doesn't grow up to love the Celtics!

Showering Baby C

I went to my friend Heather's baby shower last weekend. (You might now her as Cookie Mondays). And while, knowing Heather, it really shouldn't surprise me that every minute detail was thought out and beautifully executed...my breath was still taken away. The shower was FABULOUS! Creams and Yellows. Vintage and Chic. Over the Top and yet, still Wonderfully Understated. I loved each and every thing. A few of my favorites:

The hanging lamp shade frames. I die.

The Drink buffet. Die again.

(pictures taken by the amazing Melissa Larson)

Visit Heather's Blog for more pics of the fabulousness. Be sure and read the MENU! The food was so yummy. When all the details are up on Oh My! Handmade I'll be sure and link to that too. Happy Blog Hopping!
